Most of these experimental programs can be found on the web. I put the programs I use and or like here. Please let me know if I am missing any programs you would like to see.
- Burnsim - Size 3.9 meg Type: 14 day trial then $25.00 Description: BurnSim is solid rocket steady-state ballistic simulation software. In a nutshell, input your motor, nozzle and propellant characteristics and BurnSim calculates the Kn through the burn and predicts estimated chamber pressure and motor performance. Once your motor design is in BurnSim, you can tweak the parameters such as nozzle diameter or grain core diameter and instantly see how the Kn, chamber pressure, and motor thrust is effected. - Cpropep Size: Type: Freeware
Description: Computation of complex chemical equilibrium of a perfect gas and pure condensed species in order to characterize rocket motor performance. This software intend to be a replacement of the highly useful propep while allowing more flexibility.

- GDL Propep Size: 1,195k Type: Freeware
Description: GDL_Propep is functionally equivalent to the GUIPEP/PROPEP software, however this version comes complete with installation software and does not require additional downloads.
- GDP - Demo Size: 512k Type: Demo
Description: The Grain Design Programs (GDP) are software packages to design rocket motors and other gas generating devices. Capable of calculating ALL 2-D designs, like star, moonburner, bates, etc. Grains which can not be treated analytically, are treated graphically. This demo is fully functional. Note however that all output results are multiplied by a random factor varying between 0.1 and 10.
- GUIPEP - Graphic Interface for PROPEP program Size: 557k Type: Freeware
Description: This program provides a user friendly interface to run the PROPEP propellant evaluation program. PROPEP is a program that determines the chemical equilibrium composition for the combustion of a solid or liquid rocket propellant. Additionally, it determines rocket performance parameters such as Isp and C*, and nozzle design parameters.
- ProPep Size: 198k Type: Freeware
Description: Propep is a combustion simulation software, that estimates the specific impulse and thermo dynamical constants for a propellant composition. Ingredients are selected from a list to which new items can be added. Important: Read the 'READ.ME' file for instructions on directory settings. PROPEP runs only if the default numbering style is 'American'.
- THERMCAS - Motor Casing Thermal Analysis Size:63k Type: Freeware
Description: A thermal analysis package that determines the temperature distribution through the thickness of a motor casing wall that results from convective heating due to propellant combustion and resulting gas flow. The package consists of DOS executable file which outputs a table of results which may be copied into a companion EXCEL spreadsheet for plotting. In addition, the spreadsheet contains thermal and material properties required as input data, as well as a calculator for determining the required heat transfer convection coefficient.
